- Jeff Smith's much-loved epic comic fantasy about weird-looking white freaks, Bone, is now coming to screens by way of writer Patrick Sean Smith and director P.J. Hogan. Smith created the ABC Family comedy Greek, and Hogan directed such matrimonial fare as Muriel's Wedding and My Best Friend's Wedding, so... I really have no idea what expectations I should be forming right now.
- The 2011 Harris Poll results are in, and from a sampling of 2,237 adults surveyed online, it's been determined that Johnny Depp is AMERICA'S FAVORITE ACTOR?. Denzel Washington and Clint Eastwood tied for second--Eastwood is apparently harboring a lot of residual goodwill from 2008's Gran Torino?--and T. Hanks pulled up fourth. In fifth, narrowly beating George Clooney and haunting the top five for the 17th consecutive year, was the long-dead John Wayne, raising the question, "Why does my grandpa have so much pull in this survey?"
- Downloading stuff just got slightly harder: the FBI and Justice Department have shut down Megaupload and charged its owners with "racketeering conspiracy, conspiring to commit copyright infringement, conspiring to commit money laundering and two substantive counts of criminal copyright infringement." Everyone act really upset, so maybe the feds will feel successful and walk away before anyone notices Rapidshare, Mediafire, FileSonic, or FileServe.
