Gladiator, Wolverine Will Sing Together Again

Gladiator, Wolverine Will Sing Together Again

September 9, 2011

Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe, who last shared the screen when they sang Oprah the fuck out of Australia, will once again belt it out in front of a camera together. Crowe has reportedly signed on for Tom Hooper's Les Misrables, and will lend his 30 Odd Foot of Grunts vocal prowess to Inspector Javert. Jackman is already attached to play the other lead, Valjean, giving Hooper a solid foundation of actors who have been in both boxing movies and Meg Ryan films. Now can we get someone from Against the Ropes in this?

Mel Gibson Doing Jewish Hero Film, Because He Loves Jews So Much

September 9, 2011

What a day of asshole atonement today is shaping up to be. First news that Charlie Sheen is doing a movie about money and fame leading to a fall from grace; now word that anti-semitic repeat offender Mel Gibson is collaborating on a film about a Jewish hero. The untitled project would team Gibson with Joe Eszterhas (screenwriter of ShowgirlsSliver, and other films 12-year-olds stayed up to watch in the hope of seeing nudity) in telling the story of Judah Maccabee, a Jewish warrior who bravely led the revolt against the Seleucid Empire in the second century B.C.--just one more instance of the Jews being responsible for all the wars in the world. Right, Mel? Gibson is also producing under his Icon Productions banner and may direct, unless by then his blood-alcohol level is such that he hates Jews again.

UPDATE: For whatever reason, Jewish leaders are not so hot on this idea

Bitchin' Rock Star from Mars To Star in 'Charlie Swan'

September 9, 2011

In his first film project since becoming such a huge asshole, Charlie Sheen will play the title character in A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charlie Swan III, thus infusing the indie film with his gift of tiger blood and all that. Written and directed by Roman Coppola--who directed CQ in 2001, but since has limited his workload to writing and second unit directing with Wes Anderson and fellow Coppolas--Swan follows a hugely successful graphic designer whose meteoric rise into money and fame ends up sending him into a downward spiral. What a tragically Lisa Frank-ian tale that will be. Also joining the cast: Jason Schwartzman, who does not have Adonis DNA but does have Coppola DNA, which may not have as high a win percentage but does get you pretty far in Hollywood.
