Joel Schumacher Knows in His Heart Val Kilmer Was Our Best Batman, and More...

Well, everyone, I have to get going to the New York Comic Con, where hopefully there will be some things to report back. In the meantime, here's what's happening:

- Robert Downey Jr. is attached to star in The Accidental Genius, playing a man who awakens from a coma with heightened mental abilities.

- Juxtaposed viewings of HBO's Rome and Generation Kill led one Reddit user to ask, "Could I destroy the entire Roman Empire during the reign of Augustus if I traveled back in time with a modern U.S. Marine infantry battalion or MEU?", which inspired two-time Jeopardy! champ James Erwin to write some fiction on that hypothetical in the comments, which encouraged such fan art as the above thing, which got Warner Bros. thinking that this should probably be a movie, which got me thinking: Hey, Warner Bros., how about paying me for the idea of Navy SEALs fighting dinosaurs?

- Batman Forever director Joel Schumacher says Val Kilmer was the best Batman, and claims he would have made something similar to The Dark Knight if the studio had let him, but instead he made room to house nipples in the Batsuit, as the studio apparently demanded.

- Serbian actor Rade Sherbedgia, who notably played "homeless man" in Batman Begins, will play the villain in Taken 2. I'm sorry, homeless man, but Liam Neeson is totally going to shoot you to death.
